Chum International School (“Chum”, “we”, “our”) is a private school located on Muyenga Kalungi Road, Kampala, Uganda. We act as the data controller for personal information collected through our website, admissions process, and school operations.

  • Contact details of parents, guardians and prospective families (name, email, phone).
  • Pupil information required for admission, academic records, health and safeguarding.
  • Staff records for recruitment, employment and payroll purposes.
  • Website interaction data, including chatbot enquiries and application form submissions.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process admissions and communicate with prospective and current families.
  • To deliver education, pastoral care, boarding, health and safeguarding services.
  • To manage fees, billing and school administration.
  • To comply with legal obligations under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

4. Lawful Basis

We process personal data on the basis of consent, contractual necessity (enrolment and employment), legal obligations, and legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective learning environment.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We share information only with trusted service providers (secure hosting, examination bodies, payment processors) and where required by law or safeguarding duties.

6. Security & Retention

We apply role-based access controls, encrypted storage and secure authentication for our school systems. Records are retained only as long as necessary for educational, legal and safeguarding purposes.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you or your child. You may also withdraw consent to non-essential processing at any time.
